Abstract
This document establishes the principles for carbon footprint accounting of room air conditioners and specifies specific requirements for accounting units, system boundaries, data collection and processing, accounting, uncertainty assessment, interpretation, and reporting.
This document is applicable to room air conditioners that use air-cooled condensers, fully enclosed electric compressors, with a rated cooling capacity not exceeding 14,000 W, and a climate type of T1. Multi-split air conditioning (heat pump) units, ducted air conditioning (heat pump) units, unitary air conditioning units, etc., can refer to its implementation. This document can guide room air conditioner manufacturers to obtain greenhouse gas emission inventories throughout the product lifecycle and calculate and report the carbon footprint of the product's entire lifecycle.
