Abstract

This document outlines the process for the recovery of abandoned plastic from marine fishing, including application conditions, traceability requirements, the process of accounting for recycled carbon emission reduction, and guidance on data quality rules. This document is applicable to domestic fishermen and enterprises engaged in marine fishing, plastic recycling and regeneration enterprises, environmental organizations, and related enterprises and institutions. It aims to trace the source of recovered marine fishing plastic and carry out carbon emission reduction accounting for recycling. Note: The abandoned plastic from marine fishing mentioned in this document mainly comes from fishing gear and household plastic waste generated during operations at sea. Fishing gear includes various tools used directly for fishing and harvesting aquatic animals in water bodies, such as trawls, seine nets, gill nets, drift nets, set nets, longline fishing, pole fishing, fish cages, squid fishing, etc. The common materials for fishing nets are mostly one or more conventional plastic polymer materials.
